Andrew Bland is a bit of an old hat at this TV gig, having made regular appearances on Sky News previously. Andrew did what he always does, he shared his knowledge of workplace law in a way that’s easy to understand and I’m sure there’s going to be a lot of business owners that will be thankful for Andrew sharing his knowledge.
I never could have imagined this opportunity in my wildest dreams and funnily enough I didn’t go searching for it, it literally landed on my lap. Yes my networking and client-focused approach opened this door but if I’m honest, I believe that dreaming big manifested into something I couldn’t even have conceived only a few months ago.
When I got asked to pitch for this 12-part series, I have to say the opportunity both excited me and frightened the hell out of me, I mean I’m the woman that refused to have a videographer film our wedding as I can’t stand watching myself on TV.
In the days leading up to this first filming session, I certainly rumbled with my personal fears and feelings of inadequacy but with yesterday under my belt, I’m reminded that Dr. Seus was right; I have brains in my head, feet in my shoes and I know what to do. I moved a personal mountain today, ever so slightly, but I did move it and I feel a little more alive as a result.
According to the wise words of Dr. Seus that I often read to my children “...be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray or Mordecai Ali Van Allen O’shea, you’re off to great places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so…get on your way!” So if you’re ready to dream big, don’t be a fool like me and waste too much energy sweating the small stuff because we all have brains, feet and knowledge and we all know what to do!
